Baçira is a contemporary interdisciplinary project exploring spirituality in modern societies, between heritage and transformation. Inspired by the trans-Saharan salt and gold route, it reactivates its memory as a metaphor for movement, exchange, and inner journeys, questioning what remains sacred today.
Developed between Algiers and Geneva, the project takes the form of a hybrid performance combining spoken word, acoustic instruments, and electronics. Clarinet, bass clarinet, and kora interact with digital textures in a space where tradition and contemporaneity merge.
Blending North African, sub-Saharan, and European influences, Baçira proposes an intercultural dialogue rooted in listening and complexity. More than a performance, it is an immersive experience reflecting on belief, doubt, and new forms of spirituality.
